though this lists things that we should be doing.. we should list some things about what were doing wrong and tell people how to fix it. you have to take little steps at a time to get to the big goal.

One of the biggest things that we as homeowners can do is choose roofing materials and roofing systems which keep our homes cooler in the summer and reduce a/c costs.

The roof is one of the largest sources of heat infiltration into the home. Reducing that infiltration is the key to reducing summer peak energy demand which drives the energy grid.

One thing I learn from watching the Earth Day show in ABC channel is — bring your own shopping bags(big cloth bag or paper bag you used last time) instead of getting tons of plastic bags on each grocery shopping. Average I will get 3~5 plastic bags each grocery shopping, even I reused them(as garbage bag), but can’t keep up with the rate I receive them… I’m going to try to bring my own shopping bag to grocery shopping, or… simply just shop at Costco (since they don’t give out plastic bags)!
